From the valet staff to the front desk everything was handled professionally and perfectly! Clean family orientated environment something to do for the adult or the children. Hotel wasn't in full operation which was a complete turn off. The room was fairly clean, but could use some upgrades. Not sure if I would stay at the Showboat again! Date of experience: January Cape May 65 contributions 7 helpful votes. Loved Amanda. We were sent to Showboat from the Hard Rock after their computers went down.
It was in the morning! Amanda was at the front desk and was so welcoming and kind! The best kind of employee!! Thanks Amanda! Date of experience: August Brett L wrote a review Apr The Showboat AC.
We go to AC quite often to escape the city. This was our first time staying at the Showboat. There is no longer a casino located in the hotel which means great prices for the rooms. The room was clean and we had an amazing view of the ocean. The only cons were that the bed had a flat sheet instead of a fitted sheet, which meant we were fixing it a few times during the night.
There was a tub and shower in the bathroom, but my husband is 6'2" and the shower head was definitely not high enough for him. There were double sinks in the bathroom plus. You need your room key to use the elevator to get to the room another plus. Everything we needed was within walking distance and the things that weren't were easily accessible by the Jitny bus.
We were use to staying down at the other end of the boardwalk, but we enjoyed this end also. If you are in AC to gamble, there are 3 other hotels within a 5 minute. We were also given 1 hour later checkout! Staff extremely nice. My overall experience at the showboat was okay. The self parking garage was closed so i had to park in the street parking lot that they had a contract with hotel. They charged me per night which i was not to happy about. I then go into the hotel to find out that their casino has been shut down for years so theirs just a huge open floor plan with nothing there.
Because of this the hotel was very empty with no life. All the restaurant were shut down as well except for 2 that were by the boardwalk. The elevator took long to come and they only had 3 available in the Orleans tower. When i first checked in i asked for 2 rooms with a connector and the front desk clerk informed me that they did not have any available. The housekeeper informed that their were some rooms available on my floor.
I am a regular who loves to go to Atlantic City and I would not be booking at this hotel again in the future even though they were the cheapest but still for the booking price I expected better quality. Comforts we look for when traveling It does appear a bit dated and some little things were missing , like a do not disturb sign and perhaps a map of town like in the guide books in other rooms??!! The valet staff and red caps, if one needed their services, were fast and very accommodating!
Last minute bachelorette party and needed something close to Oceans and Hard Rock where dinner and our shows were. Showboat was perfect! The rooms were large and clean and it was smack in the middle of Oceans and Hard Rock. Will definitely be staying again, only downside is not much going on in the hotel but it does have an outdoor pool and a gym also no casino just a hotel which is still okay because Oceans and Hard Rock are so close!
Showboat was great, affordable and also has a outdoor pool which was a must for my group. Very close to Ocean hotel and casino and steel pier. There is not casino in the showboat but close enough to others. Overall a great time. We were really pleased. The room clean, and specious. A few years ago we had a bad experience at a different hotel.
We pledge never to visit AC again. The Showboat changed our minded. I would like to come back and stay for a week. We love Showboat for being a quieter place to stay. I love its unique, eclectic style. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This was our first time back since Hard Rock opened, and the connector was nice. Loved the little surf bar! Nice easy beach access, too. We will be back! We try to do October for our anniversary, and May for my birthday!
I admit that I picked this hotel because it is located on the "boardwalk" and had the lowest price for the dates that I wanted during 4th of July, but the reviews were very mixed and when my sister filmed an episode of her TV show here a while back, she said that the place was very worn and dated looking However, my experience was nothing but positive. The facility was "kept up" and looked like it went though a recent "refresh".
I stayed in a room in the Bourbon Tower room and I was blown away by my ocean view room! Convenience of being able to go from showboat to hard rock without going outside. Having breakfast shop right there.. Front desk attendents could be more welcoming. Could use some shops to make hotel more appealing.. Our stay at the Showboat was awesome. It is a great location. The staff was very helpful and it is the only pet friendly hotel on the boardwalk. We will definitely stay here again.
Good convention venue. Surprised No gambling available. Room was lovely all though somewhat dated. Friendly staff. Nice assortment of soaps in room however I was disappointed no hair conditioner in the room. We did eat at the Breaker Burger for breakfast before we left and we found in satisfactory.
The Showboat is the only hotel in AC that allows animals. My stay was pleasant and most of all, I was happy to have my dog and cat with me. I will return. Had a great time at the Showboat. Great location and staff. Had one issues with the tub not draining properly however it was handle very quickly. Would go back. Very friendly staff at check in. Immediate problems with our room. I went back to the front desk not to complain but give constructive feedback.
Manager on duty immediately switched us to a suite with a 1pm checkout. There's so much not going well at Showboat No restaurants. Hopefully sports betting will help AC and they'll be able to reopen the casino. We stayed at the Showboat this Thanksgiving for the holidays.
When we arrived the hotel was very clean. We were met by one of the Valet Drivers. At were greeted very nice. The desk clerk was ok, she could have been a little more friendly. Our room was very nice and very clean. We were on the 18th floor and had a great view of the ocean and two casinos. I was surprise at the size of the bathroom and cleanliness of the who room. All in all it was a great stay and a nice holiday trip. The price for the room was very reasonable priced.
My wife and I celebrated her early birthday in AC and we stayed at the Showboat. It was directly next door to where we were seeing Jersey Boys. The check in line was a bit long since it was 5 July and lots of check outs. Rumors of rooms not being ready spread through the long line, but was quickly dispelled when we got to the counter. The room was comfortable and had partial view of the ocean.
Although it's a shame there is no longer a casino in the Showboat it's still a good value to get to all of the other casinos and boardwalk access. Great location for conventions, friendly staff, and a great view. Nice room brickers burgers which used to be Johnny rockets was fabulous attached to showboat. United States Hotels. Like the pipes for all the rooms run through the room. Housekeeping was great when we asked for extra trash bag for our trash. Rooms were clean. The rooms did smell like cigarette smoke when we checked in though and rooms are supposed to be non smoking. My group and I definitely will not return. Not worth it. Booked it because it was cheap but you get what you pay for and ended up costing the same as staying as nicer hotel anyways.
Friendly staff. Older but beautiful hotel. A little spooky seeing grand spaces without the people and slot machines. We thought the casino was there but it was not. Parking should be free for guests. The beach was not open we had to go to the next hotel's section of the beach, not a big deal though. They were overbooked so for our 12 year anniversary we were moved to a room with 2 queens as the one we booked days prior 1 king was not available.
Their excuse was that they work on a first come first serve basis thus reserving is a waste of time. The Bathroom shower I felt was very tacky and uncomfortable there was no tub just a standing shower and the shower head was very loose and kept falling down. When arriving at the front desk I was not greeted and the only one in line for about 10 minutes.
When checking out it was the same thing. Especially since there is not even a casino. Would not recommend to anyone. When we asked at check in if there was a gym we were told yes. The next morning my roommate went looking for the gym and it was a sad sight to see. The image online is false advertising for the gym it claims the hotel provides. Nothing was open to eat at. Never staying here again. No gambling in the casino anymore. We had to go next door to the resort's hotel. This was not mentioned on the website.
My wife and I like having a casino downstairs for convenience. Showboat Hotel is an iconic establishment and landmark hotel that has been on the Atlantic City Boardwalk for over 20 years.
