Very disappointing, freezing building. I went to the exhibit that used a gibran piece as the advertising and it was a huge disappointment. There was only one of his works which was one of the worst that you could hardly see because it was so light. The rest of the museum is small with a smattering of this and that but of all the museums in the world I've been to this was very underwhelming.
I went to an art gallery later that blew my mind with the beautiful and stunning selection which was much more impressive. If you haven't been to many museums you'll probably find this one satisfying enough. A smaller sized museum but always interesting. The permanent exhibits are nice but not too impressive. The art work changes and is the bigger draw.

We were fortunate enough to visit the museum to attend the Christmas Tree fund raiser but also enjoy the museum. The huge Chihuly blown glass is a colorful centerpiece. This museum has so much potential, yet it is stagnating and clinging to outmoded, myopic museum strategies that no longer serve to contribute to progressive art and culture. Essentially, this institution is a crumbling tomb, showcasing either the dusty ghosts of donations past or the mediocre, unchallenging excuse for contemporary art that seeps out of South Florida, falling into the realm of forgettable decoration.
